- What is the history of Vista Hinchinbrook?
- Originally built in 2000 as a Tea House. It was used purely as a residence from 2006 and re opened in 2021 as a Bed & Breakfast and Event venue.
- Where is Vista Hinchinbrook located?
- Located 16kms north of Ingham and 34kms south of Cardwell, opposite the southern end of Hinchinbrook Island and Channel conveniently on the Bruce Highway.
- Can we come and see the Venue?
- Yes you are welcome to make an appointment to come up for a visit, we strongly recommend this to fully appreciate what we have to offer.
- How many guests can we have?
- We can accommodate up to 100 guests for functions and events.
- What are our options for travelling to and from the wedding?
- Taxis or private cars are available from both Ingham and Cardwell but should be booked in advance for both delivery or return.
- We have a very good relationship with the local bus company and bus pick-up and return drop-offs can be arranged through us for anyone staying elsewhere in the local area. Alternatively, you are welcome to arrange this yourself, however, please bare in mind that larger buses will NOT be able to ascend the steep driveway to the venue.
- Can guests drive their own vehicle? How many car parks?
- Yes you can arrive with your own vehicle, we have parking at various sites around the property for up to 50 cars
- Do you have on-site accommodation?
- We have two self-contained cabins set back in the rainforest, each with a queen bed, kitchenette and two sofa beds for children as an added option. Plus an Ensuite Queen Room which is ideal as a bridal party preparation room. And of course, our honeymoon suite, the Mahogany Glider cabin with its spectacular views across to the islands. - What accommodation options are close to Vista Hinchinbrook?
- Cardwell, Ingham, Lucinda, and Forrest Beach have accommodation options.
- Is Vista Hinchinbrook wheelchair friendly?
- Yes, both the deck and garden are wheelchair accessible.
- Are animals allowed at Vista Hinchinbrook (including ceremony animals)?
- No sorry. As we are nestled between National Park and World Heritage areas no domestic animals are allowed.
- Where is the closest airport to Vista Hinchinbrook?
- Cairns to the north and Townsville to the south.
- What time should my ceremony start?
- Your choice, however we suggest a 3pm ceremony leaving time for photos to be taken against the island backdrop, and a smooth transition to your reception.
- Is there anything for my guests to do while I’m getting my photos done?
- A grazing table can be provided, along with light refreshments, while they kick back and enjoy the views.
- Do you offer recommendation lists of catering, photography, hair and make-up, etc?
- Yes we have a list of local venders for a range of services.
- Is Vista Hinchinbrook licensed, or can we supply our own drinks?
- We are fully licensed and therefore there is no need to bring your own.
- Can we access Vista prior to our wedding for a rehearsal?
- A rehearsal is recommended, however an appointment must be made. Only one rehearsal is necessary.
- When can I drop off my personal items and decorations for my wedding day?
- Up to four days prior, we have storage under the deck and in our garage, however this will be at your own risk.
- Can we get ready on-site?
- There is a Queen room available, however this needs to be booked in advance, or comes in the basic package.
- What happens with all our outdoor ceremony and garden party decorations and items?
- Any items not hired through us will need to be cleared away and removed from site by 7am the following morning.
- What furniture do you have?
- We have available: chairs with covers and coloured sashes; assorted tables; wedding arbor; signing table and chairs.
- What do we do if it rains?
- The deck is under cover, and additional patio and indoor areas are available.
- Do you have a dance floor?
- An area is set aside for dancing
- Who sets up my ceremony decorations?
- Anything hired through us is set up by ourselves through an agreed plan
- Who provides the ceremony sound system for the ceremony?
- Your celebrant may provide an amplified system for the ceremony, although some do not use amplification. We can arrange to have a power supply available in your chosen ceremony area. We currently do not have sound or PA systems available on-site.
- What do we do for music during our Wedding?
- We are licensed for up to 90db and have a designated area with power available. This can suit either a DJ or singers.
- Can we self-cater our reception?
- No, this is not an available option due to our food license. Any outside vendors need to provide us with a copy of their license and insurance.
- Is glass allowed at the location?
- Apart from wine and beer bottles all drinkware will be poly carbon or plastic type.
- What happens if the power supply fails?
- We have a large generator to ensure continuous power due to unforeseen outages
- Are children allowed at Vista Hinchinbrook?
- All children are welcome at Vista but remain the responsibility of their guardians.
- Will there be a cut off time? If so, what time?
- Last orders at the bar will be 11.15 pm and guests not staying need to be off site by midnight.
